Invention Assignment

Inventors,
Over winter break you've been giving the following assignment:
Create an invention. First, come up with a problem that you would like to solve. Then
draw a sketch of it. Now build it using recyclable items (shoe boxes, cereal boxes, paper towel rolls). You will
need to bring your sketch and invention to school on January 5th.
EXPECTATIONS
1. The sketch must be neat and organized (I’m not expecting perfection. I just want to be able to tell that

you took your time).
2. Only recyclable items have been used to build the invention.
3. It is evident that the student, not adult, built the item.
4. Inventions have to be light enough and small enough to be brought to school by the student.
5. Student must be able to state the problem and how his invention will help solve it.
6. Student must be able to explain how he built the invention (sequence).

If you have any questions or need help, please let me know. I'll be checking the blog site periodically. Have fun!

Remarkable Readers:
I want you write a post that describes a setting, but you can not tell where it is. It will be your classmates job to try to figure out the time and location that you described. Make sure to use spectacular clue words. Have fun!!
Hello mathematicians,
Are you ready to do math? (You better be thinking yes). I want you to tell me problems that equal 25. The number sentences can be addition, subtraction, or multiplication. GO!!

Winter Break

Winter break is quickly approaching. Have you been thinking about what you are going to be doing? I have! I want to hear all about your plans. Please write at least five sentences telling me all about it. Remember to use strong verbs to make it "pop."
